i checked my grades for the first time ever; i never had grades before! no not in undergrad and not at brown! i have all As. ahahahahaaaaa.
getting grades is really strange. at this point i don't understand why grades matter. for one class, the writing center pedagogy class we all had to take last fall, i wasn't sure, cause some people had been docked points for piddling stupid things; we had to write a dumb paper for the witch professor, and i just took mine and ripped it into tiny pieces and threw it in the trashcan at the bus stop when i got it back, so i didn't know really, but i got an A in that too; whatever. now no one even has to work in the writing center unless they want to, which is much more humane, cause that was a terrible thing about last year. this year is much better. i have lots of time to watch tv and make apple cider and write about watching tv.

on halloween i went to a shamanic healer. i experienced what is called extractions she talked about ancestors, stories, and i saw things/ felt like screaming at her, a random phrase that made no sense. after we talked a little bit, it made more sense! it was very uplifting and relaxing and i want to go back, to dig a little bit more. an immediate story is losing rings/ jewelery. no joke- i've just lost my 2 rings & missplaced my watch. it drives me crazy that earrings slip out & things just dissappear.
chemistry class is almost over- hurray hurray. i need to work hard until middecember then i start applying to ACTCM and AIMC. when i grow up, i want to be an acupuncturist.
climbing is getting to be more fun- i need to go more frequently. last night i went with mike & his sister, martha. she climbed some beginning climbs & i remembered how hard they seemed and i never thought i'd climb a 5.10a but lo & behold, i am.
i've been hanging out with friends recently that i love. i wish we could all live in a wierd soundproof hive, where our dwellings are little portals into each other's world, while still maintaining close proximity. i've also been kissyface with a nice man.
my parttime job is going to go away at the end of december, which makes me nervous, for spending cash reasons. how to make an extra 300$ a month?! you should listen to a funny little soundbite featuring dutch licorice: http://www.scpr.org/programs/dinner-party-download/2009/10/23/

Since someone else had luck identifying a painting, I'll try for mine.
Two geisha are walking together and one has an umbrella. It's called "The Promenade" and was painted by a British painter around 1910.
I flipped through a book at a market stall, didn't make a note of the artists name and then when I came back the book was gone! Donthca hate that?
